have a chance to purchase this used amp in good condition and it has a weber speaker upgrade in it. its selling for ~800.00.

is a weber speaker upgrade in this amp ok for a used amp purchase? i think a new one has a Jensen speaker so american music supply lists and at 1000.00.

Without knowing which model Weber it is it would be tough to say...but I'd think a Weber over the stock Jensen is a better deal.

Don't know about the Weber, but I think $800 is a bit steep considering you can get a brand new 'dent and scratch' from AMS for under $800 and it has full factory warranty. I've purchased "dent and scratch" items from AMS in the past and never was able to identify the dent or scratch; they are so minor!
Aside from the Weber, I think these amps sound great w/ the stock Jensen.

+1

Stock used DRRI's are going for around $700 so a decent speaker upgrade may likely be worth the extra C-note of the asking price.
