I feel like an idot posting this on the forums.. but before I walk in the store and look like a dolt, I might as well do it from behind the keyboard.

I just puchased a used Hot Rod Deluxe with Footswitch (2 buttons -Ch select/Effect).

The problem I'm having is that when the footswitch is connected, I can't select a clean tone. It only toggles between the distortion channel and the drive boost.

I've tried countless button off/on combonations and not matter what i have done I can get it to switch between the clean and dirty channel. As soon as I plug it in the distortion lights up...

Also, I don't know if this is backwards, but the light is on when I have the Boost on, and turns off when I hit the button. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Is it possible I got the wrong pedal? or am I dumb as I feel?

How do I work this pedal ?

Thanks in advance.

Back when I had a HRD, the button on the left controlled the channel switch between Clean and Drive channels and the button on the right kicked in the More Drive. If both of your buttons are doing the same thing, you may have a short in your cable. Try a different one. If not, you may have a short in your switch.

Hope this helps.

If your pedal has 1 button for channel and 1 button for effects then you have the wrong pedal. You should take it back and make them feel like dolts.

Thanks guys. I tested the cable, same thing happens. I think I have the wrong box like suggested.

Mine is PN 0057664000 and listed in the manual is PN 0994062000

I'll gonna head back tomorrow and see what they say. I would have thought they would be interachangeable.. maybe that is what the store believed as well.

Cheers.

You can see my footswich in the bottom of the picture. The channel switch on the left, will be the clean when no light, and dirty channel on when depressed (red).

Thanks for all the input...

It ends up that the store gave me the wrong footswitch... at first the owner looked baffled because they look very similar... so I got a new one instead of my old used pedal!

Sweetness, just in time for jam.
