This weekend I took advantage of the Guitar Center Memorial Day sale and finally purchased a brand new DRRI for $839. I thought this was too good a deal to pass up so I called the local GC and purchased one over the phone 5 minutes before the sale ended. I'll be picking it up in a few days. I told them I wanted to open the box plug it in and make sure everything was working before I took it home. Can't wait to plug my strat plus into it.

Congratulations! A great amp. Have you brought it home yet?

Congratulations db0967!

Just my 2 cents; I've owned a DRRI since April 2011 and couldn't be happier. Give the speaker a bit of time to break in; play the amp at a decent volume for a few months to do this.

Many people replace the speaker immediately. I'm not knocking this but if you give the speaker some time to break in you will be rewarded.

Most of all enjoy that amp; it's definitely a keeper!

There are only two types of guitarists......

Those that own Deluxe Reverbs.

And those that, sooner or later, will.

Rawk on!

Congrats, I too like to be the first to unseal and open a new purchase and check it out before the store staff do. When you make a big purchase and take the plunge it's nice to know the items fate rests only in your hands. Please let us know how the shopping experiance went and how you feel about the amp once it is home.

I am thinking along those same lines but add a Bassman and a Champ and I am all set.

It's a wonderful amp as you've already found out and read above.

Enjoy it.

If you get a chance have the bias of the output tubes checked by yourself, if handy with dealing with high voltage or have a amp tech check it out for you. Can make a big difference in sound.

Thanks guys after a few days I noticed that the amp was not working properly so I took it back and eventually got another one. The second one is better but it buzzes like crazy when playing a low B or C note. I have since tried several amps in the store and all of the DRRI's buzz when playing low notes. Does anybody know what this is.

Perhaps it's something hanging on the wall in the store......?
