I've been wanting a tweed tube amp for a long time, and this weekend Guitar Center has the Blues Deluxe Reissue on sale for $629.00. Needless to say, there is now one in my practice room.

At first I was scared of how this thing would sound--or NOT sound--at lower volumes, but I need not have worried. All I can say is, wow! I've only been playing it for a few hours and it is already, hands down, the best-sounding amp I have ever owned. It gets every tone I could ever want. The only addition I'm using is my Boss Blues Driver pedal for extra gain when I want it. My '57 AVRI sounds just absolutely perfect through this amp. I can only imagine how much better it will sound with age.

Thank you, Fender!!!

Indeed......forty years from now it'll be the most remarkable thing you've ever heard.

I wish the Hot Rod series came with a front facing, angled, control panel. Not that it's a big deal - just makes more sense to me if it was built that way.

The BDRI is one of my main goto amps when I need a shot of inspiration. The smokey tone that comes out of this thing will make me fire up my recorder almost every time I switch it on. I put a C-Rex in it and overdrive it with an EH Soul Preacher, Hardwire CM2 and a Fulltone Fulldrive 2 Mosfet, at low levels. At gig levels it hardly ever needs a pedal to get the tone I like, unless I just want to go heavier and then just the Fulltone Fulldrive does the job well to get the crunch.

I have a 2 x12 ext and a 1 x12 ext for it, the 2 x12 has two Texas Heats and the 1 x 12 has the stock BDRI speaker in it. I also have a 1993 Blues Deville 410 that I run in stereo with the BDRI and I think they compliment each other well. I wish the BDRI had a Tremolo/Vibrato, then it would be my perfect amp.
