Check this out. Some friends of mine were playing locally last night, so I went by to see them play. They ask me up to do a set with them and the keyboard guy also plays guitar so he said I could use his Strat and his HRDlx. Played a few songs and right in the middle of playing Creams "Politician", the amp starts squealing, crackling and finally cuts off. The guy that owns it said it just started doing that this week but usually a whack on the top stops it. Probably just a tube issue, but now this is the FORTH time a HRDlx went down on stage on me. I've used his rig tons of times in the past, usually with my guitars, but I'll tell you I must be cursed or something. He used the other guitarist's backup rig to finish the night.
I offered to take a look at it and lend him my Egnater in the mean time. At least it didn't throw smoke signals.

It must be Voodoo or something. I've got to steer clear of the HRDlx at all cost.

Supro...your not cursed the amp is...my nephew had one and the reverb always gave him trouble (bought new) and when it went up in a puff of smoke he took it back to the GC he bought it at and got a refund and went Marshall. It was too bad as this really put him off Fender amps as a whole. Now if I could just get him to play my BFSR he might come back to the fold...but those amps have ruined quite a few folks on Fender.

Arjay, I'll tell ya I felt really bad. When I sit in with bands, I touch absolutely nothing. I respect the other musicians gear. Sometimes if I know in advance I'm doing a set, I bring my Gibby Tribute. I just found it ironic, that yet another HRDlx dumped on me. I know it wasn't my fault, but man that's scary. I feel like the grim reaper of HRD land
