Robin Trower is such a great artist to follow. Not only is he like BB King sings in Riding With The King going to play that guitar until he's six feet under, he's recording with the bass player from Cream - and he's using a Blues Junior! That's right, our own favorite little Blues Junior is on the new Trower album.

Really? That's awesome! It's just one more convincing reason to buy the BJ.

Actually, according to GP's latest interview with Trower, he used a Blues Jr. and a Cornell Plexi together in the studio. Live he uses Marshall JCM 800's in the states.
He's a great player. It's a shame he took so much flack for sounding like Hendrix. There were a lot of Hendrix wannabees after Hendrix died, but I think Trower wasn't one of them. I think he was trying to pick up the torch and keep that kind of sound alive, much like the young guy's playing the blues today.

Agreed, Trower plays what he likes. He was influenced by Hendrix, but who wasn't?

I just saw Trower at the House of Blues recently. From the time he enters the stage until the last note, the guy was dead on and in a groove. Not to mention the greatest facial expressions I've ever seen!

Seriously, when I hear the univibe sound I think of Trower. I know Hendrix was probably the first to popularise it, but Trower has made a career of it and he owns it.

Be sure to check him out live if the opportunity presents its' self. You will be blown away. And by the way the guy in Cream's name is Jack Bruce.
