Hi fellow CT owners. I was wondering what other people are useing for tubes. I currentely use EH's but was curious about other peoples experiance with other brands. Tried JJ's and they seemed dark without much personality, Groove Tubes seemed brittle sounding,Mesa and Ruby are ok, but didn't slay me. Thanks !

So sorry, I'm kinda new to this world of guitar amplification. What is a CT amp? Is that one with center taps, or something?

Thanks, a ton!

I like those people thinking every body know what is the word is CT or other I see too often.
I like to help people on the forum but I hate to search what they mean.

Sorry I don't know what is CT so I can't help you.

I use the original Groove Tube 12AX7WA that was in my CT.

The reason for this is that the presets in the CT were designed around using the 12AX7WA premap tubes and replacing them with a higher value 'hot' tube would change all of the amp's preset tones.

Usually pre-amp tubes last forever, I only changed mine because the CT tipped over and fell about a foot in our equipment van.

Sorry for the confusion on what a CT is. I have too many Fender amps and just figured everyone knew what it was was. It is a Cybertwin, no longer made any more. Solidstate with 2 -12ax7's in the preamp section. Thanks Tony for the tip. I have never tried the wa's in this amp before. I bought it used and it had JJ 12ax7's at the time. I was wondering if anyone has tried Mullard 12ax7's? and do they come in WA's [ 12ax7wa]. Thanks for the interest!

Careful there, Reb.

If you rattle Johnny Static's cage, he'll wake up and start throwing wood shavings at you.
