I tried using the search function but didn't have any luck (maybe I typed the wrong key word). Just bought the SS60 combo and absolutely LOVE the tones. Problem is the switching from burn to vintage I get the loud "pop". It seems to only happen when I'm actually playing, once you stop hitting the strings, you can switch with 0 pop.

My question, is this common place for this amp (I've seen some complaints but not widespread)? If I send this one back, will the replacement have the same issue? I'm really hoping this amp is defective. If this common, that's very disappointing and quit the bummer. It won't be an issue sending back but figured if this is gonna happen with the replacement, not much point in getting another one.

Well any help would be greatly appreciated and if there is a thread for this already, please forgive and point me to it. Thanks!

A couple days ago, I investigate about "mute" in SS schematics:

http://support.fender.com/schematics/gu ... ematic.pdf

My conclusion is there is a mute circuit in all versions but on 60W combo there is no activation during switching. On the SS22 it is activated only on one sense ! That is quite incroyable for such amplifier. :(

May be have a look on mods:

SEE BELOW:
I spoke with Eric in customer service about 30 minutes ago, regarding the Supersonic 22.

It's come to my attention that this model has some "inherent" issues.

1) Sonic Boom — as some users refer to it. Is a commonly known problem — "A loud POP that coincides with activating the switch from the “Vintage” to the “Burn” channel, especially while playing."
Quote taken from Joe at the Brown Oscillator Company: http://brownoscillator.com/wordpress/?page_id=2

Joe however has devised a switching solution - that Fender should probably know about. Joe concedes, "In order to remedy this, I added another mute actuator circuit that responds to the switching direction seemingly overlooked by the designers."
