i tried one out today at my local music store i was pluged stright into it with a blacktop tele and i got to say it got heavy enough for metal and every sub-genre and it got more then enough volume for my needs plus it got an effects loop and really good cleans to but i dont really use the clean channel lol i think i might get it

ps:the reverb on the amp is nice sound overall i think its a good deal for the price

Then there's only one thing left to do -- take one outside to the parking lot and perform the "F150 Pickup test". If it passes, you've got yourself a "keeper". If it doesn't, then you'll understand why you never see real professionals playing this (ahem)......'equipment'.

I think if I was looking for an inexspensive amp for Metal, I would check out a Peavey before a Fender. E.g. Special Chorus 212. Most people who buy Fender want the Fender tone, which isn't Metal. Plus I think the budget Peaveys are more robust than budget Fenders. But then, I'm not into Metal. JMO

ask your ears!

if your ears don't like it then forget it, surely your ears are better than the audience's, if not, grab your shovel, you've got to go to work!

I've got one for a backup in my band's trailer. I've used it before playing gigs and only the cork sniffing musician's said anything. I then put a "twin amp" sticker over the FM212 logo. Played another gig and now I got compliments on how great my "Twin" sounded. Frankly, I sound like me on any amp I play through, so don't let any amp snobs stop you from buying it. It is a good, loud amp. It sounds best loud. Use an EQ if you play low volume.

thats sad that people are like that id say half the reason some people dont like the amp is because it dont got tubes in it

And the other half don't like it because it doesn't sound as good as an amp with tubes in it.
