Hi guys

I currently own a Vox AD50VT which in all honesty I have hated it since I bought it

I have typed that exact same sentence on more than one occasion. I have never liked my AD50VT and believe me I have tried. I had intended to buy a Blues Junior but the sales person that day advised me that the Vox was much better. I currently use a Carvin V3M and a Fender G-Dec 3. Good luck in your amp search.

Hi guys

Thank you for all of your responses I am definitely going to go for a Princeton I think.

As money is tight and I could not bear to play my vox ad50vt any longer I traded it in and got a vox ac4tv. I tried to get a champion 600 but I couldn't get one. I'm going to keep it for six months to get the money together for the Princeton then trade it in.

The difference in an all tube amp is startling. I now know what I've been missing out on although the amp is a little noisy but it serves the purpose for a short term solution. For the money I think I have done well.

I didn't want another vox but it was all I could get.

I can't wait to get that fender amp it has taken over my life! My wife thinks I'm an absolute nutter but you've got to have a hobby right?

I'm on holiday for a week and I couldn't fit a guitar in the car with all the baby stuff I need. I have been sulking ever since. Still I've got the fender forum to keep me busy.

Take it easy

Tom

Hi Anthony

So its not just me then! I'm so pleased to have gotten rid of it and I got 85 pounds for it so I got a good return on it. No matter what I did I could not get a good sound from it. Even copying forum posts and the vox toneroom area it didn't work for me. Could have been my crappy playing though :P

The shop I bought it from done same really bigged it up and I only realised when I got it home how bad it was.

Still its out of my life now.

Have a great weekend.

Tom

Hi,

I bought a PRRI for $500 when I sold my Blues Junior (version 2 I believe). The Blues Junior was pretty good (sounded good slightly overdriven), but the PRRI was much better IMHO. The PRRI also has much better bass response even though it has the stock Jenson 10" vs the Blues Junior 12" (I put a Jensen C12K in it).

I've compared the PRRI vs a friend of mine's 78' SF Princeton Reverb and the tone is almost identical. A nice used PRRI is a good option if you don't want to spend $800-$1000
