Hey there fellas, I posted this in the lounge forum and got some good advise, but was also directed to ya'll. I amp putting together a Fender reissue stand alone unit; I scored all the parts of flea bay minus the tubes, chassis, and cab. Well, I am about to start slapping her all together and need some advice from the amp heads out here. The tube compliment is 6K6, 12AX7, 12AT7....and my question is this: I have some tubes lying around that should fit, 6L6, (2) 12AX7s; would these work in the unit? Would this throw anything out of whack?

The Reissue uses a 6V6 in place of the 6K6. A 6L6GC? I don't think so. Stick with what is called for.

Bob,

Build it to original 6G15 specs. Use the 6K6GT (many good NOS are still available at very good prices). A good 12AT7 is also nice. Like the Sylvania 12AT7WA. Use a good tank & suspend it properly from the cab. These have the best range of tone and reliability. IMHO.
