I've been doing some writing and recording and I'm in search of a small, moderately priced tube combo amp (max of $800, but less is better) that can churn out some of those classic early rock and roll tones. I looked online and I saw that Chuck Berry played a few different fender amps throughout his career. I also would like something that could achieve a nice warm blues tone. So I was wondering if you guys could throw out a few suggestions for me. What about a Blues Junior?

For "classic" Chuck Berry tone, I'd look for "something in tweed". Say, a Peavey Delta Blues 30 (which should also satisfy your budgetary stipulation).

Tons of people record and perform live with Blues jr's

But, you said early Rock N Roll like Chuck Berry as in USA early rock sounds right ?

6L6GC and or 6V6GT = American early rock tones

the Blues jr is a more british voiced EL84 amp

Used deluxe reverb (DRRI) Used Twin Reverb (TRRI) can all be had for around that amount and give you honest early Rock tones.
Used 59 Bassman RI is another great choice.
