Hi guys, i was jamming on my frontman and had the aux plugged in but it wasn't connected to a iPod or anything, i plugged my phone in whilst the amp was on and there was a low 'bassy' sound and then it died, turns out the fuse has blown and keeps blowing new ones, any advice what may may be wrong with it as i bought it second hand and it isn't under warranty and dont really fancy buying a new amp if i can help it!
Cheers
Phil

OK... the amp pops fuses when the phone is plugged in, but not when it is not plugged in? Can I ask why you plugged the IPhone (I take it that's your cell phone) into the amp? Won't the phone record with it's built in mike, without connecting to the amp?

I'd say you prolly have some bigtime impedance mismatch going on. May have popped an internal resistor in the amp... and thus the continued fuse problem.

Just a WAG. Best to check the amp with a DVM, while it is turned off and unplugged. Check for short and toasted resistors or caps.

Good luck! Hope I'm not way off track, with the issues.

Hi, cheers for the reply, i plugged my phone in to the aux input to play along to some tracks but i plugged it in when the amp was on then it died, i also had my headphones plugged in at the time and it blows fuses when there is nothing but the power cable plugged in to the amp

Cheers

Seriously, throw the amp away and get another. Unless you just enjoy tinkering and throwing good money after bad, then have fun. :)

The amp isn't worth paying someone to fix it.

+1000!

If it were still under warranty, FMIC wouldn't even bother to fix this amp -- they'd hook-shot it into a dumpster then give the customer a new one.
