Was just wondering if anyone knew if the special editions such as the tweed, red october, etc,etc come out at regular intervals throughout the year (I.e one every set number of months) or is it completely random?

Thanks

D

Those are typically special requests by retailers....

I just read on another forum that Fender may make a Blues Jr tweed version available in the US that currently is available in Australia... not sure if that's just the same tweed version that was available here not long ago, though.. In the post on that other forum, they mentioned a Jensen P12 speaker in the tweed version (versus a C12)..

They've been making and selling the NOS version for years now. They call it a limited edition. When I got mine In 9/2009, I read what some guy wrote on another forum that they had been making it for years. I got the tweed BJ with the ceramic 12" Jensen speaker. Nice amp. Some people complain that this speaker is too bright. I like it the way it is right now! If I put a different one in it would be an ALNICO Weber or maybe another Jensen with an ALNICO magnet. A Celestion might be a sweet choice as well, perhaps a V30 if it comes in a 12" version.

I think the Jensen P12 is an alnico speaker... The P12 is used in the Australian limited edition...

The V30 is available as a 12" speaker. Find it as the stock driver in the Texas Red Blues Junior..

For the record, if you put a EH LPB-1 booster in front of your NOS BJ, it will not just make it wake up, but the Jensen ceramic magnet driver will come to life with the sweetest sound I've heard out of it so far! I just thought I'd pass that along!

I bought a Blues Jr. iii Limited (tweed) in Feb 2012 new from a local music store. Saturday (April 14,2012) it went "pop" and blew a fuse. I put in a new fuse and it went "pop" again in like 3 seconds. Just took it back; it does have a 5 year warranty. I loved it up until Saturday. Kind of upset right now, but I'll give them a chance to fix it.
