Will post pics soon.
After saint paddies day sale, and gift card I had laying around
I only paid 350'out of pocket.
I ordered it brand new in a box. Little brown truck came in
yesterday, so as you can see I spent some time breaking her
In. It'll make a great practice amp.
I'll take some pics tonight.
Sounded really nice with my les Paul

Here are a couple of shots

I took it on a jam last night, used my les
Paul and my friends 1980 Gibson
ES 335(sweet sounding guitar)
The amp sounded awesome.
Having a vol and a master volume shape
tone and how it reacts.
If you put one at 3:00 and other at 9:00
The amp distorts or cleans.
I found I like both at 6.
The beauty is I got to my friends house
and got off with lp in one hand and amp
on the other. 1 trip

Congrats bluesstrattone, looks nice!

Yes, I like the master and vol setup too. The BJr really sounds sweet with hum-buckers doesn't it?

What kind of preamp and output tubes do you have? Probably GTs, but what type (Sovtek, EH?) and red, white, or blue rating on output tubes?

Congrats, man.

I love my little BJr NOS. Other people seem to love it too. I play every week hosting an open mic and all the guitar players love the sound.

My settings are always:
Reverb: 3
Master: 3
Middle: 6
Bass: 6
Treble: 6
Volume: 3
Fat switch: Fat

And it always sounds good. I control loudness and overdrive with my overdrive pedal and guitar volume knob.

And yes, getting from the car into the pub in one trip is great.

Congrats on your NAD. I have the same amp and I love it. It sounds like you got a GREAT deal on it, too, assuming you mean 350 usd. I think that model BJr. usually retails at $549 and up, so you definitely scored big time!

Enjoy!

Well the output tubes and PI are not JJ. In fact, there are no GT relabeled JJs, and the GT EL84S (S versions of several types of tubes), are made in the JJ factory, and are specifically made for GT.

The output tubes look like "Red Label", which is rated for late breakup/more headroom. The number on them should be an 8, 9, or 10, but it looks like a 1 in the pics....? The "Blue Label" is rated 1 to 3.

The "R" on the end of the model, indicates Russian, and the output tubes would likely be either Sovtek or EH, and the original label should be visible somewhere on the tube, you might have to pull the tubes to see the other labels. The original labels should also be visible on the preamp tubes, and are Russian also (could be Sovtek, EH, Tung Sol, etc).

I'm new to el84s,
My amp sounds really good as is, especially after my speaker
broke in.
I may experiment later with the pre amp tubes.
