Depends on the guitar, pickups and electronics as well. The C-Rex helps a lot on the ice pick in the ear. I had one in my Blues Jr. that I traded for the Blues Deville and it really made that Blues Jr. a lot fuller sounder.

Strange thing though. The stock speaker I took out of my Blues Deluxe Reissue and put into a Seismic Audio 1 x 12 extension cab sounds great with my Egnater Tweaker 15 head, no ice pick at all...

C-Rex is a great choice for the Ice pick blues, that big cab behind me has a c-rex in the top and a Red Fang in the bottom. (see picture)

The c-rex is smooth and warm, the fang is brighter and pointing at my feet, not my head.
Not great for the first few rows of folks if your on an elevated stage

Weber 12F150 also comes highly recomended for a warm way to smooth out the highs, I have yet to meet a Weber speaker I didn't love !

For my blues deluxe reissue would I choose the 8 or 16 ohm?

I believe its an 8ohm speaker, check the value of the original first.

I put an 8 ohm C-Rex in mine and two 16 ohm Texas Heats in my ext. cab to make it 4ohm when I hook them all up. The 8 ohm sounds good by itself..
