I bought a Pro Jr Red October in December and a very strange thing happened. The knobs split in half, one completely and the other partially just last week. Not a big deal, but strange. So I called the store, and called Fender myself, and it seems they don't have the white knobs. Although I found them myself on allparts.com (try harder Fender). While obviously not a big deal by itself it does have me wondering where else corners have been cut or quality compromised.

Speaking of which. A friend bought the Blues Jr Red October about a month after I got mine. 2-3 days after the knobs split on mine his amp simply died.

Is it too much to ask to get a quality product these days? I'm concerned about the longevity of my amp and will likely start shopping around for another and unload this one. Won't be a Fender though.

FWIW I love my Yngwie strat :D

An all-too-common tale these days, I'm afraid......

Which is why I own no Fender amps newer than a '94.

Your signature is very true. Now when I use the amp I'm wondering if it's going to crap out on me. Had this happened a year or so after buying the amps I'd take it differently. But with issues (albeit very minor with mine) happening with BRAND NEW amps it's just unacceptable.

Time to look elsewhere. Great sounding amp though... too bad

Most of my Fender amps are 35 to 45 years old. I maintain them meticulously and I'm confident enough to take them to any gig.

Something to think about......

If you're diligent, your search may yield a tasty example such as one of these......

Arjay, the next time you need a vacation, you need to come spend some time here in the midwest...and bring your camera...fantastic photography there, my pics never come out that great! Of course that could be the subject matter too!

They are around and can be found with some searching!
Here is a 69 Super Rreverb for sale in somewhere in Toronto :)

At that age it might need to have the caps checked/redone.
