Hi - be gentle with me, just starting out and I like the idea of a little practice amp, something I can practice with and not annoy anyone. I've seen the Fender Mini 57 Twin and also the Fender Frontman 10G model. Has anyone experience of either of these little amps? They also both have a headphone jack, but what kind of headphones work well with these types of amplifiers? Thanks ....

I know this is going to sound sacrilegious on a Fender Board, but a friend have one of these little Vox AC1. Pretty nifty little amp with built-in metronomes. FWIW.

Hey thanks, saw the fender ones and fancied one of those, but that little vox does look nifty doesn't it. There are a few different practice amps available these days, just wanting to get the right one, you know?

I'm liking my Mustang 1 as a practice amp.

The little Champ 600 can be had for around 100$, not a bad 5 watt tube based practice amp.
Main issue is the tiny speaker in the small box, sounds better with an extension speaker :)

I know this is a Fender site but the Roland Microcube a try. Amazing sound from such a small amp. If you want to go a little bigger, I'd try the Blues JR.

You could also get a Vox AC4TV, which can be run at either 1/4, 1, and 4 watts.

The 1/4 watt mode loses a bit of oomph, but at lower volumes it's hard to tell anyway. I run it at 1W and it's just glorious for practice.

AMS is blowing out Champion 600 amps for 119.99 brand new !

If I wasn't allready trying to trim some fat from my gear, i would snag one in a minute.

Decent way to get you started and sounding good too !!!!!

real tube circuit, Cool looks.

I don't know if this is above budget, but the Princeton Reverb Reissue is a great little amp. I use mine for practice, studio recording, and smaller gigs. If you go this route, just make sure to get one of the newer ones that has the reinforced baffle.

For just starting out, I'd avoid the Frontman amp and go to the Mustang Series. Still a solid state amp, but the tone improvements make it a much better sounding amp. You'll have a built in tuner, headphone jack, and some tools on hand to help you learn....
