My first (and only) amp is a Deluxe Reverb Reissue. It's a great amp but I'm getting the urge to add to the collection. I'd like a low power amp (~5W) so I can play at home and get some breakup at reasonable volumes.

I've been looking at a Victoria 5112 - very simple, low power, nice range of tones, if a bit pricey. However, the local GC happens to have an Egnater Rebel 20 head on sale at a great price. I know this amp has a lot more adjustability but I can turn the watts down for home use.

I'm not sure what direction to go for my 2nd amp (assume that there will be more down the road). Any suggestions which of these two amps (or other models) would be best?

About a week after i bought my new strat and deluxe reverb amp, i bought a new vibro champ xd amp. This amp is a wonderful amp so far. And, just recently, i found a new in box Rca 12ax7 tube which i installed and, the sound improved quite a bit. Then, couple weeks ago, a friend gave me a box of 6 old 6v6 tubes. 2 of them being Rca tubes. I changed out the groove tube in the v.c. to the Rca tube and, the sound now is outstanding ! I really love this amp! You might want to check one of these out.

If you are handy with a soldering iron, read this:

ckfoley , what do you think if you used a THD Hotplate or Webr Mass Attenuator with your amp ?

stratele - I haven't had any experience with attenuators. I'll look around at the ones you mention to see if I can learn more. Maybe that's a good option...

I have the DRRI and last year I bought the Marshall Class 5. Got it for under $300. I like it. Still loud @ 5W!

If you can get the Egnater 20 head at a good price and have cash for the speaker box, I'd go that route myself. It's a fine amp. Just my opinion...

Like you I see more amps down the road..but possibly a Tweed build as others have done here.

A good attenuator do a great job. I have a Weber mass 50 and I like it. I can play my amps cranked at the sweet spot with a very low volume.

One of my friend a good guitar player like THD Hotplate and have two of them, but want to buy a Weber because Weber could match any speakers 's impedance, not the THD.
