Thanks again for your opinions. Anyone else who wants to chime in on DRRI tubes, biasing, or speakers, please do. I think my strategy will be to get the Deluxe biased correctly, gig with it and bring along my Blues Junior III (which doesn't sound half bad itself and also has Groove Tubes) along as a backup.

This is a great forum. Since I'm a 100% Fender guy (except for a Vox Pathfinder), I'll be visiting regularly!

:D

Couldn't make that link work. I'm interested. Please repost if you can. Thanks!

My DRRI is a '03 and has the original Groove Tubes. They sound great. The guy I got the amp from bought it new said he put around 100 hours on it. I've been using it for over two years quite a bit off and on and it's still working great. If anything starts to go bad or sound weird I'm gonna have new tubes put in and the amp checked out. DRRI go for around $600 used locally (though you they don't pop up that often). I might just buy a newer used one. Not sure. $600 for a USA made amp that sounds great and makes you want to play is one of the best purchases you can make. DRRI is an amp for life! Most single coil and humbucker guitars sound good on it. Some better than others obviously.

DRRI!! 8)

I would stick with the older used ones. The newer versions seem to have issues as of late. Definitely try the amp out before buying if possible.
