For anyone interested, I've started building another amp and documenting the build with pics for future reference if someone decides to tackle the same amp. It's a "Tramp" in Head format.

Here's the build thread:
EDIT: Removed the link - The build is now posted in this thread.

I thought I maybe shouldn't post the whole build in this forum this time around as it might not be appropriate since it's not really a Fender, though there is a good dose of Champ heritage in there (on steroids!)

If the admins think it's OK I might move the build over here as I know quite a few folks here are interested in this kind of stuff.

From the Tramp website:

In Tweed mode, it's heritage is 3Fx series Tweed Princeton or Champ, with the additional benefit of Treble-Bass tone controls. Tweed is smooth and creamy with a welcome warmth, vintage voice but with a little more solidity and clarity. It is full of soul and you can really hear the Fender heritage. In Tweed mode, the Volume control is usable through it's entire travel - gorgeous cleans around 5/6 on the dial, slight break-up around 7/8, and an amazing humming drive at 9/10. Everything you want in the classic Tweed amp spectrum, from clean to dirty, is right here.

I'll check it out Snowy...enjoyed your last build on this forum.!! :D

I don't see why your new build would be banned here.

I appreciate the consideration of No457 Snowy about "the right topic and the right place for it", wish more were that thoughtful and considerate.

I don't know about the admins, but this seems clear to me. The thread is about a "Modern Amp", and this is the section of the forum titled; "Modern Guitar Amplifiers (1985 - Current)", so it seems a perfect fit for a freshly built amp. We are not limited to discussing only Fender products here.

I say bring it! :D

OK folks you talked me into it, here we go, I have copied it over here:

My Tramp Head kit turned up during the week and I decided to share and document the build for future reference of others who may wish to tackle this amp. I started off sorting through the inventory and checking off all the parts, measured and labelled all the Resistors and Capacitors. Then spent some time working through the manual which is nice and comprehensive. The attention to detail in the kit is exceptional.

Here's the Chassis mounted in the Head, Trinity did a beautiful job on this, It is made of 5/8" baltic birch, finger jointed and finished in the customer's choice of Tolex or Tweed. Stephen kindly supplied Cream knobs to suit my choice of Fender Rough Blonde Tolex and I can see it's going to be an eye-catching little amp when finished.

Image

Checking out the parts list, all quality parts and there's an amp in there somewhere.
Image

Installed the terminal strips and tube sockets.
Image

Nice beefy transformers too.
Image

Next up is the Heater Wires.

Snowy, you're the Henri Matisse of amp assembly.

Another gorgeous work of art!

RAWK ON!

Snowy, that is one over-built single-ended amp! Better than a lot of "boutique" hi-fi monoblock amp going for $5-8K. With that kinda iron and tight components--you can venture into the land of "blissful tubes"--- never to return.

One tube I'd suggest in this arrangement is the Sylvania "fat boy" 5932. This tube has the balls of a good 5881. But the warmth and depth of a good 6V6GT. With a tad more headroom. They shine in SE apps. Made a couple DIY's with this tube through the years.

Push-pull is nice, too... provided you take base width into account. But, cathode-bias, single-ended, Class "A" is about as good as the famous Mullard EL37. IMHO. Which would be my first choice, if I had one.

Thanks fellas, and thanks for the link to those tubes Beemer.

Got some more done today, installed the resistors on the power tube tag strip, and the grid resistor.
Image

Also wired the jumpers on the back of the board. Had to improvise a little when I found the eyelet for the preamp ground connections was missing, the hole was there, just no eyelet. You can see it's a little different to the others (Bottom Left of pic) but it'll do the job once it's all filled with other component leads and solder. ;)
Image

Next the top of the board gets loaded up.
Really enjoying this build so far.
