I know this subject has come up before, so feel free to direct me to the appropriate thread. I need to connect a '55 Valco to another amp's front end. The Valco has an unbalanced line out, post output transformer. I think this is more up the modern amp alley, than the vintage forum. Let me know if I should shift the question over. Art

Do you have the schematic for your particular amp, or a link to it? Maybe you know if the line out has some resistors attached, and their values and configuration?

Shimmy, no schematic. When I rebuilt this amp, a few months ago, I had to draw my own schematic and layout. The line-out is a little mod I made about 15 yrs ago. It is a combination of a 400ohm resistor and a 2.2Kohm resistor tied into a jack and a speaker line. Was just thinking, that a buffer may be needed to keep any noise down and the possible phase disparity between amps. Actually, it functioned quite well when hooked up to a PA, but I'd rather not hog a channel on the PA. Art

Your answer covered the parts that I thought I could help you with. You're looking for the box, carry on.

Thanks for checking in on this, Shimmy! I think Arjay and Nedo use these kind of units. Maybe I should've stayed over on the vintage forum to get their attention. But now, I don't want to cause a dual question. Oh Well, here I am. Come on, you folks probably have some experience with these units. All opinions are welcome! Art
