I picked up a used Concert Reverb, well, more like, 'rolled one out of the store' last week.

I'd be interested in knowing the born on date if possible.

Here's the serial number: CR-274226

Thanks!
Pablo

Pablo...the amp should have a QC Sticker inside the cab somewhere with a date on it. That would be the date it was inspected and readied for shipment shortly thereafter.

And if weighs in heaftier than 86lbs like my SFSR, then Wheeling is the only way to go!

It may be missing, cuz I think I would have seen it, but I'll look again. Thanks.

So, I can't figure it out - what's an SFSR?

thanks, Pablo

Sorry Pablo, it stands for a Fender Silver Face (1968-1980) Super Reverb Amps. Here is a link for em. By the way it also has some great info all Fender Amps of the vintage variety and some more links that might help you track down the age of your amp.

That was my guess, well, either a 65 Super Reverb (Sixty Five) or SilverFace.

Don't know what the 'SFSR' weighs, but the Concert Reverb 4X10 comes in at 85, ughhh!, pounds. I wanna put some kind of motor on it and ride it to work! It'd fit right in with all the other weird looking vehicles out there! hee hee. And I could play guitar during my commute. (That's a funny picture in my mind!)

Much of the weight has to be in the power tranny - it's humongous!! Like a car battery! It is a cool amp. I've wanted one for a few years, especially after I discovered it's essentially the same amp as the Evil Twin, but with half the power. Perfect!! Granted, it's kind of a waste having all that latent power for me to use at 1/4 power as a practice amp, but I love it! The best features and tone for me. It's a 'wolf in sheeps clothing.'

Back to my original post, I looked and sure enough, QA sticker, and, sure enough, some unreadable initials and no date. Whatever, I'll find out eventually.

Nice chattin' with you.

Pablo

"Motorizing it and riding it to work" ...too funny

I did some extra searching and the Concert Reverb was part of the "Pro Tube Series" and ran from 1993 up to 2005. Looks like when Fender came out with the Super Sonic Series, the Concert Reverb went bye bye (it disappears from the Fender Frontline Magazine in 2006).

You might try sending all the info you have to Fender at consumerrelations@fender.com
They are pretty good at responding fairly quickly and they might be able to give you a closer date than the span of years from above.

Also here is a web site with some info, but it stops at 1995.
