I put up a new topic in another section of the site (probably the wrong one knowing me) asking for feedback on Acoustasonic 100/150 Amps, and also the suitability of the Mustang Amps for acoustic instruments - 60 views no replies to date. Bummer.

As I asked previously, does anyone have any feedback on the Acoustasonics above, especially with reference to:

a. Occasional use with strats/teles and/or effects pedals?

b. Regular use with other acoustic instruments (as well as a/e guitars) e.g. mandolins, fiddles etc?

c. How did you successfully get round the lack of an Aux In input (if required to)?

d. Are they any good at lower (house/small venue) volumes?

I appreciate the time and effort you all put into this site, especially when luddites like me try your patience  :?

I am surprised there have been so many negative comments and reviews about the acoustasonic amps so far, Fender have had ages now to tweak and polish them. Still, with some feedback and ideas, they may still be the answer to my problems.

Thanks Guys,

I have had my Accoustasonic 150 for a couple weeks now.I've been playing it with my Ibanez As73 with Gibson P94's,semi hollowbody.I play it mostly stereo with another amp, usually either a 60 Bandmaster or Blues Junior NOS.I have a pedalboard,so my signal chain is...RP155,Sparkle Drive,Plimsoul,BossFRV-1,Peavey DSC1(Dual Clock Stereo Chorus),SansAmp Accoustic DI....Amp(s).
I like the amp so far.Overall I would say the 3 speakers interact and blend well.To answer your questions...
(A)The P94 is a noiseless P-90,a beefier than standard single coil. This amp takes it just fine.I havn't tried my Squier Strat with it yet but it is up next in the rotation,so I will let you know when I get a chance to try it.It also played well with my Epi LP with Di-Marzio Super II's.It has a nice full sound at low and medium levels.I hav'nt tried it with a drummer yet but I'll let you know when I do.My jam space is below my bedroom where my lightly sleeping wife is.So it sounds good low.Say approximate un-amplified accoustic level.Natural voice can still be heard.I also ran a mic into it for slightly above that and it also comes through warm and crisp.
It plays well with my pedals, all on,some on none on.I have mainly been dialing in the blackface setting and I like it.Does it sound exactly like a blacface Fender..?I doubt it.But it is nice and clean and responds well to the pedals.
(B)I havn't gotten to the accostic yet but I have two with pickups(one a 12 string)and I'll try em with the Strat and get back to you.I don't have a mandolin or fiddle(would like a mandolin)but I could say..mic the 12 string and report back if that would help.
(C)Th RP 155 pedal has a jack for an aux input and works just fine.Just watch the volume level of your input device or you will overdrive it and that won't be nice. There are also inline transformers that can convert say a headphone out signal to a guitar level signal for 30 bucks or so.This would require either a splitter or the use of the other channel to work with this amp though. So for me the RP 155 or something like it is prefferable given it's other capabilities.
(D)It's fine low.I havn't really pushed it real loud but I'll give it a go and let you know how it is.
I mainly am a home player.I've been playing for 20 years.I jam with friends once a week or so and we play louder there so I needed a portable vocal amp for these occasions.I have a kind of low voice so I sometimes get buried in the mix. This amp suits that and from what I've heard so far a small venue just fine.I still have lots of aspects of the amp to try out so take what I am saying with a grain of salt. You should see if you can find one at a music shop nearby and try it out with your rig. That is the only way to know for sure if it's right for you.
Good luck in your search and I'll post back later when I get a chance to try a few more combinations of guitar mic and volume levels.
