Hi Again everybody, The output tubes in my deluxe reverb ri are blue label gt's (electro harmonix) And, the rectifier is a sovtek. Is it true that, if i replace the tubes with the same blue label pair and, sovetek tube that i do not have to re-bias? Thanx.

Sigh. This question gets asked almost daily and the answer is always the same. At least from me anyway.

THEORETICALLY if you replace the tubes with the same color tube you do not have to rebias. But, no tubes are ever perfectly matched and biasing is so easy (with proper care and a few simple tools), it is foolish not to check the bias and adjust it if necessary for optimum performance.

Bluesky, drop the "Nick Burns, Your Company's Computer Guy" attitude. Nobody needs a "sigh" like responding is a waste of your valuable time. Anybody who posts several thousand times to an internet forum has time to spare.

Yeah. This question gets asked a lot. Do a search.

I love guys like you who come in and criticize someone else's response to a question (Did you bother to notice that I actually provided the OP with an answer to his question which 63supro seconded?) while contributing absolutely no useful help. You are the one who clearly has way to much time to spare if all you are going to do is complain

This question has been discussed hundreds of times. Why do you think many more people didn't respond? If people would do a search it would simplify things. And yes, our time is valuable, isn't yours? I don't consider a sigh belittling when there's an answer attached to it.

Nothing wrong with questions, just be courteous enough to do a little bit of homework first or at least try a search. It's the same thing with how do I use the standby switch sigh...............

Some folks here are pretty knowledgeable, then they get criticized until they leave the forum after they get flamed for an opinion. This forum would be a riot if all there was were noobs answering all the questions with inaccurate information.

I'll ignore the rest of your post and accept your apology.

if you want to check bias, best way to do it is buying
http://www.amp-head.com/product_info.ph ... ucts_id=70
bias probes
and a multimeter.
do a search on how to check the bias on the drri or try google.

That's the probe I use and highly recommend.

Lesson learned: Even after being complimented and apologized to, some people just can't help but be an arrogant $@!&#. You know a lot about guitar amplifiers, get over yourself.

And you seem to enjoy lecturing people while contributing nothing. Congratulations on becoming the latest member of my ignore list.

Another non-contributor. In case you didn't notice, I did answer the OPs question.

So sorry to see this place being overrun by kids, We need Arjay back to spank em and send em to the corner for a little time out!

The guys are correct in telling you that the color label is in theory a bypass of the bias check process, however it won't be as acurate or you may be missing out on peak performance from your amp.

When it comes to bias adjustment a little tweak goes a long way towards great sound.

Most techs will do a bias check in my area for around $20 if you dont want to learn how yourself, and the DRRI is an easy one to do, no need to pull the chassis.

Now kids stop pestering the teacher !!! They took the time to learn this stuff, they earned the right to be slightly annoyed if they want to be.

What kind of wives do you guys have? I never get nagged at all, ever, even after 25 years of all my musical and photography business nonsense.

Bill is a major contributor to the forum as is bluesbondsman, Beemer and many more.
I suggest you noobs grow a thicker skin, and the next time you go buy a guitar that's already worn out for you along with your jeans, see if you can buy a sense of humor too because you whiny, non contributors are wrecking the forum.
Flame suit on, shields up.

I don't see where using the word "sigh" makes someone look like an idiot.
And what is halo? I'm a geezer so pardon my ignorance. I have nothing against young people. There are quite a number of young people that I thoroughly respect on this forum.

I see I'll be adding another one to my ignore list, sigh...........

This horse has been beaten to death.
