Let me start by saying that I have little to no experience with amps.. here is what I am thinking....I don't know if I am missing something...would I be able to use my SCXD combo as a head but drive both the 10" speaker in the combo and a 12" in a cabinet...wired in series the impedance would be 4 ohms for those who may not know the SCXD is 15W tube...I might be overkilling this I am just trying to convince myself that with this set up I wouldn't need to buy anything for awhile, almost like a mini stack..

Hi chrisfleury1,

These two 8 ohm speakers wired in series would be 16 ohms. Two 8 ohm speakers wired in parallel would be 4 ohms. If you use either series or parallel, the impedance won't match the amp and that's not a problem (2 to 1 is fine), so the amp won't develop full power but might sound great. I would parallel for 4 ohms, but try both and see which sounds better to you.
