Dear fellow obsessives, I just picked up a Bandmaster Reverb Head off eBay and according to this site because the serial number starts with F 0 followed by 5 digits this makes it a 1980 Head. It does big clean fender sound really nicely but does not break up even when the master and the Volume are at 10 unless you turn the tone pots up in which case the sound gets a bit flubby down the bottom end.

I can't find the specs for it anywhere on the web. Excuse my ignorance but:
[*] does anyone know where I can find the right manual – and
[*]is this one of the Tube rectified models or is it solid-state rectified? Looking at the back of that it has 2 big tubes (look like 6L6s) and 6 small tubes, but cant see a big rectifier looking tube.

I had a 74 Bandmaster, but not the Reverb. The Reverb was available, but I was too cheap to buy it.
From what I can remember it had a tube rectifier in the Reverb. A 5U4GB.

Here's a link for you
http://ampwares.com/amplifiers/fender-b ... er-reverb/

Way back you really didn't get much of a manual. Mine was a little booklet that told you about the volume and tone controls and how to turn it on and off.

If there's anything I can help you with, I'll see what I can remember.
