Hi folks,

I've just made a bargain a couple of days ago, when I purchased a Fender Cyber Twin 1.st generation off the *bay.

I've been using a Vox Night Train before and now I'm selling my vintage 1x12" cabinet, because I was looking for a 2x12" Cabinet.

Could I use the two Celestions in my Cyber Twin with the Night Train (18 Watts tube amp, 8 & 16 Ohm outputs)??
I see there's another 4 connections on the speakers which I could use (see pic).

If possible, I'd like to "degrade" my poor Cyber Twin into a 2x12" open back cabinet by plugging in my Night Train every now and then.

I just don't know, how to wire the speakers, seriell (one after the other) or parallel (both plus and minus connections put together).
I won't use the speakers in stereo, just mono.

There's no figures on the rearward stickers on the speakers telling me, how much Ohm they have.

If those are the original standard Fender speakers, they are 8 ohms each. If you want 16 ohms using both speakers, wire them in series (one after the other). You must disconnect the speaker cables coming from the Cyber amp before connecting the speakers to another amp. With all wires removed from the two speakers and using a single speaker cable, connect the positive (white) of the speaker cable to the left speaker positive terminal, connect the negative (black) of the speaker cable to the right speaker negative terminal. Then connect the negative terminal of the left speaker to the positive terminal of right speaker. Using this single speaker cable with both speakers will give 16 ohms. If you parallel the speakers you get 4 ohms.

i did something similar. i have a carvin sx200 amp- 2 12" speakers.

when i got my new super champ x2 head last week, i just disconnected the speaker cable from the amp, and connected it to the head. works just fine.

ultimately i will get a dedicated cab for this, but for now this works fine
