Ì've always wanted to own a really nice Fender tube amp. I recently picked up a Jeff beck Strat which means that I don't play my 2005 American Series Strat in CAR with rosewood fretboard that much anymore and I don't really like more than one type of Guitar in my collection. I've met a guy who wants to trade me a Hot Rod DeVille™ 410 III amp which is only three months old for my Strat.

What do you think? Is this a good trade?

If you like the amp, be sure he has the original receipt ans signs it to transfer the balance of the warranty over to you. If I were you, I'd make sure you ring the amp out to be sure it has no issues.

You'd really have to like the Hot Rod Deville, since new they're $900 and a Jeff Beck strat is $1299 ish.

There are a lot of blackface/silverface real Fender tube amps that you could get for that trade or selling it; I'd much rather have a real or reissue Super Reverb before having a Hot Rod anything, but that's me.

I agree. A SF Super Reverb would be a better choice.
