Good luck with your tube search. Here's a 6V6GTA sample on EBay.

Thanks for the link Bmw2002ti i appreciate it..Ifiggure that i am going to wait till spring/summer when the house bills are low to order better tubes for the amp. But, i have 1 more question then i will quit. I noticed that the small tube sockets have sleeves for tube shields the phase inverter tube has a shield over it but the rest do not. Was this amp suppose to come with tube shields?

You mean the top half of covers, like the photos? Top without and bottom with. Yes, should have them. Basically, they are designed to keep RF noise out. They don't work as well as those mil spec babies that McIntosh uses in their amps.

If anything, helps to align tube with pins and keeps tubes from falling out. Big octal output tubes and rectifiers do not normally have them, due to heat dissipation issues.

Blues Bondsman...didn't know you lived up there...I am from South Haven, Michigan and my brother lives in Niles...I get up that way every so often when we visit him...may have to try and meet up and talk amps one day if you are interested.

Sorry for the OT post...

Forget it brother, I'm coming up to see you ! Smallmouth season !!!!!

I used to fish off Pellee (sic) island out in Erie and caught some HUGE smallies.

Your in the heart of some great fishing there.

Your still welcome any time you get down towards the bottom of MI
