We picked up a new Hot Rod Deluxe III around Christmas time and until today everything seemed to work just fine on it. The amp how randomly has a very loud hum (picture the sound of electricity running through high voltage lines cranked to 11). You can disconnect everything from it and it still hums (much louder than anything you were putting through it). Volume control does nothing to the sound.

If you shut it down for a couple of minutes it seems to reset itself but will quickly return once turned back on if you drive the amp at all.

Any suggestions? Maybe just find the service center?

Thanks!

-Dave

return it to where you bought it since it will still be under warranty. Don't try to fix it yourself.

Yeah Dave, Nedo is spot on! That noise is totally unacceptable. I know it's a pain, but get it in ASAP. They'll probably just swap it out for a new amp. Art

I agree, take it back for warranty repair. It is likely just a bad tube.

I wouldn't get it fixed under warranty. Just return it for another one. I have one word of advice. Egnater.
