When I insert a set of headphones into the corresponding jack on a brand new Mustang II, the amp's speaker will (correctly) mute, but only for a few seconds, then suddenly sound starts coming out of the amp's speaker and stays that way, thus defeating the purpose of using headphones.

Hi ortizhm1,

There is a whole separate section of the forum specifically for Mustang amps. You might even try a search before posting, the topic might already exist.

My friend, your suggestion (which I really appreciate) about unplugging and turning off the amp, then back on (with the headphones already plugged in), worked to some extent, but eventually, after about 1 minute, the problem comes back, that is, the speaker "un-mutes" and sound starts coming out. It appears I do have a defective out of the box Amp. Of course if you have any other hints they are welcome, thanks again.

Must have been a PM? I couldn't find a thread that you were answering.
