I do the same Bill. But adding to that list is becoming a full time job.

I think some people would be surprised to see some of the more common names around here on my foes list.

I'm sure he's doing fine. I know how he feels though. Oh, and I know how those photog forums are, a backstaber's paradise.

People usually don't get driven away. They just stop giving advise, especially when someone asks for it, then turns around and disrepects the one person who gave them accurate information.

Art1 Dpreview is one of the worst in photo land. I've been a professional photographer for over 20 years. I have my own studio and make an okay living. It's harder now since everyone now has the latest in technology but can't explain what depth of field is. They lowball you and do a lousy job to boot.

blues bondsman, you have always been a respected forum member in my book and a pleasure to have a conversion with.

I see you've joined the Egnater forum at Rig Talk. Welcome! It's pretty low key there.
I hope you get the Tourmaster back soon. Egnater just came out with a couple new pedals that look pretty interesting. There's a video up on the forum.

Don't know if I'm on those lists, but I do know that I had to take a break for a while. Although I'm anchored in the Vintage harbor, I paddle over here to keep up on the newer stuff and ideas. Hang-in-there! Art

I never even knew there was a friend or foe list

Hey we are all human and our pride gets stomped on, we come wheeling into town thinking what we know is written in stone only to find that maybe were not the big shots we thought we were.

Kinda like when a fella came here stating that tube circuits wre a thing of the past and SS was the wave of the future, I was ready to keelhaul him and feed him to the sharks, that boy stepped on some serious toes.

Funny, he caused a big stink and still pokes in here occasionaly.

Lets determine to back up those of here who have given trusted advice and rid ourselves of the 13 year old EXPERTS
we can win this battle with truth.

Can't wait for my Tourmaster to get back home either !!!!
100 watts of WOW !

BB, Egnater's in the pedal biz now. They seem interesting.

Whenever we disagreed on something, it never turned into a tidal wave of personal insults.
Along with the 13 year old experts, we also have the experts who never gigged a day in their lives experts and the I've only owned one amp that sits in mt bedroom but it's the best amp in the world experts too. The foe list is good for the blood pressure. It might be chickenshit, but I don't care. I don't mind people disagreeing with me, but usually I have 40+ years of playing and gigging experience behind me while some of the other people just parrot things they've read somewhere. Once again it's usually the young ones and bedroom players. There's nothing wrong with playing for your own enjoyment in your own home, but don't start flame wars over things you've never experienced. I learn new things every day, I'm not a no-it-all. If I was, I wouldn't be here or any other forum and I wouldn't waste my time reading books.
I lean a lot from Bill and Snowy as well as many others.

You said a mouthful there bro. I especially like the part about the expert who has only ever owned one kind of amp but it's the best because that's what they read somewhere. Prolly read it from a post by another bedroom expert on another forum. I'd bet 99% of all these HR lovers we keep locking horns with fall into that category.

Beemer I learn a lot from you too. Man, I didn't even mention the HRD amps. I hope you have your flame suit on. I've got you back because you know the sacred protector of all things HRD will be popping in on this one. Is it a bird, is it a plane, no it's HRD Man!!

Now wait just a darn minute. I have a HRDIII and love it. I just think they are too fragile for the road.

I would say hand wired Vintage is best for the road, but I'm in the wrong forum for that.

The best amp i've ever owned , Tone, Build etc... was a Clark Piedmont hand wired 59 bassman clone, freaak'n unbelievable tone !!!

I sold it due to the fact that I have been a home player for a very long time now, my last paying gig was 198? something, i do teach and encourage players, i rebuild blown out amps and really Love playing the blues with buddies of mine (coffee house jams) and so I just didn't need the firepower, I have bought, tweeked and sold well over 100 tube amps (mostly with help from here) !!

Don't get me wrong i get offers to join bands a few times a year, I just don't need the stress and I like my time wide open !!!

I at one time was madly in love with a 1993 Blues Deville 4X10, its now on tour with a band out of Iowa, guys drove from there to Indiana to get it too.
Honestly the 4 alnicos and the good preamp and power tubes I had in it did indeed make it sound good.
after new upgraded Grid Resistors (big Suprise there)

My HRDlx lasted for three months of gigging. Bought it new too. Funny thing is, you would think they would build them a little more robust being it's a 40 watt amp and too loud for most home use. My Egnater Rebel is built and designed a lot better. Especially in the heat dissipation department. I've had my Egnater on countless gigs and rehearsals in the past year and a half with no problems.
