Recently my Reissue's vibrato(tremolo) has stopped working. Basically everything in the vibrato channel works except the vibrato effect. I've tested the foot switch, it works, and the tube isn't the problem. When I use the foot switch and hit the vibrato I can hear a faint oscillation coming from the speakers (its quiet) and when I adjust the speed it changes accordingly. So something is oscillating but the sound isn't. If anyone knows what the problem is any help would be appreciated.

How do you know that the tube is not the problem? Did you replace it? Based on your symptoms if everything in that channel is working except the vibrato, the tube is the first thing I would suspect and swap out.

Your somewhat right, the tube was the first thing I tried, and that worked. I may have posted too soon as I opened up the amp and found a bad connection from the tube. Simple solder fix, problem solved. Thanks for your help anyways

+1. The tube was my first thought. An unscientific, but effective way to see isto put the vibrato's tune where the amps preamp tube goes, turn on the amp & let it warm up for a while. Once you've detrumined its warm enough; tap on the tube with the eraser end of a pencil, a plastic lighter (something not met of hard enough to break the tube) and listen to see if the tubes gone microphonic. Does it squeal, or buzz, even if you can hear the tapping through the speaker when you tap it, its an indication that its on its way out.

I've had tubes tested; they say the tubes are fine, but they're really not. Some of the older testers will tell you if its useable, but not "how useable". Its like a battery tester that when you plug a battery in; it will tell you if the battery is still holding a charge, but not "how much" of a charge. I had the platic tip of a rectifier tube break when I was doing 3 things at once; and I handed it to someone on the otherside of the amp & told him to put it in. He didn't line up the key, so the tube didn't line up, annd the plastic roke off. The amp then was much quieter. I didn't have a tester at the time so I brought it to my tubbe guy (who's awesome; he owns a television repair shop, but mostly restores juke oxes and has access to EVERY Nos component in the world, and charges me very little: he sold me a set of slightly used (very slightly) of US made RCA 6V6s for $15/each, and 2 bumblbee caps for $5/each; Gibson wants some dum amount) anyways I'm getting off track. Though the platic was broke, all the glass was unharmed & the tester said the. Tube was working; again though it didn't say how much it was working.
Long story short I pulled a rectifier tube from a friends amp to test mine; the volume was normal again. Soi bought a new tune and was done.

The moral of the story; tubes are always suspect.
