Does anyone have any idea on the release date for this new 13 watt tube amp?

You mean this thing?

http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-FEN-2303010-LIST

That is the stupidest looking amp with an even more stupid name. Who the heck is designing amps for Fender these days? Please tell me this is an early April Fool's joke.

It might be ugly, but its 13 watts of sweet 6V6 tube tone for only $299! Seems like it ain't available in Canada yet.

Exactly, it's retro. Not any better looking than the old Fender Woodies from the '40s.

Not any better or worse looking than a Fender amp of the 1940's? I beg to differ. My Model 26 gets compliments (maybe from nearsighted ppl).

I got to admit, both are great looking amps. Those are both the type of things that could sit in the living room like a nice piece of antique furniture...and No I am not kidding! I like the retro styling of some things, maybe because I am a bit retro myself and I feel more comfortable around these type of things.

And an amp with 6V6's can't be all bad!

BMW2002Ti My friend, you never fail to pull out the good stuff !

That thing drips Vintage toneness !!!

I can't help thinking about a pair of 6V6's into a 15.

Anyone say where they are made yet ? speaker make ?

Can't wait till some one here buys one and starts tinkering, ya know its gonna happen.

Thanks, guys! Gotta stop this, though. And to think I almost bought that 1930's Epiphone Zephyr a couple of months ago (clean & went for $800). Gotta love those
"killer" anode cap tubes.

My trad'n and swapp'n time was on hold for fouteen mounths while i foolishly stepped back into middle managemnet only to recall why i hated it soooooo much.

Now I'm back in the Bail Bizz and trying to recoup from that mess, it'll come around !

I did buy a DRRI and that egnater tourmaster 4212 lately, no real cool or vintage stuff just yet, still gotta get the $$$ back up and working for me.

I'm on the prowl for something nice with P-90's in it right now.

bb, I just bought a Gibson Studio 60's Tribute a little while ago. It's got a slim 60's neck and some killer P-90's. Honeyburst kind of a road worn motif. It can go from sweet and delicate to serious growl with incredible sustain. It was a limited edition, but it was so popular, they painted the backs and call them dark backs and started a new run. $850, Pretty cheap for a Gibby. The P-90's have similar output to PAF pups. With the Rebel, it's a killer Blues and Classic Rock rig.

i guess fender is giving us a poor man's tweed, cool!
i looked at the pics from the back of the amp and i see where the 299 comes in.
the speaker looks like a mickey mouse and the cab is so small and there is no tube rectifier~
BUT hey! I will play one in the store and i cannot wait to try. I am sure it will sound good.
I do love my 150.00 Champ for that matter. Sure it won't sound like a 1K or 2K tweed but if it gets kids to get some decent old boogie tones for their price range, then i guess that's good.
Plus if they throw their death metal pedal in front of it, it will stand up with that 15.
love that 6V6 + simple contols + guitar str8 into amp tone - may rock n roll never die~
