Hi guys,

I just got a pro junior 3 and have had this problem.

After running it on 5 or 7 (out of 12) for about 20 - 30 minutes the volume drops quite a bit and also as a bit more gain at lower volumes. I was really loving the tone and volume I was getting at 5 - 7 on the dial but cant gig with it like this. I just put new power tubes in it and it has not fixed the problem.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

May want to check the output tube's idle bias. All solder points. And clean the tube' s pins and sockets with contact cleaner.

If the amp is still going down in volume with time after the above checks out ok , you may have an instability issue. This is a whole new can of worms, best discussed if this issue continues.

Just a warning. Tube amps use high voltage. And can hold that voltage for quite awhile after being turned off. So be careful. Or refer any circuit work to a good tech.

Unfortunately, the idle bias of a Pro Jr in not adjustable, just like the Blues Jr. Both tend to run quite hot. Any adjustment of the bias on a Pro Jr would require the services of a tech if one is not familiar with working on tube amps. It won't hurt to check it (if you know how) or have a tech do it just in case.

Hi ross1231,

If you just got it, then take it back for warranty. Even the tubes are covered for ninety days.
