It's all a moot point (shouldnt it be a mute point? anyways) It was a cold joint. The main pcb board is a major pain to take off, there are so many wires that clip to it; I have to use sticky notes, cut the adhesive part, mark what it is and where it goes, then take it apart. The first time I just removed the screws and a few clips, then lifted it gentley, and stuck one of those stress balls shapped like a car you get when you open a checking account. I took the board off this time, touched up the solder, and its good as new.

Let me atart with this; I had a stock deluxe reverb, thenn modified it.
I put a jumper between R12 & R25(clipping 1 end or R12) so that I have reverb/tremolo on the normal channel, & put both channels in phase so I can use a jumper.
-I changed the resistors that set the midrange frequency; the normal channel I went from 6.7; to a 12; to get more of a tweed tone. I pout a 10K trimpot for the vibrato channel and set it for 8.25K, still scooped, but a little sweeter midrange.
- the most dramatic change came from swapping C25 from a .001uf cap to a .01; this lowered the heasroom so instead of getting breakup at 8 w\PAFs, it does it T 4.
Today, I decided to put in a .0015uf, brining the headroom back to almost stock, but just a little lower.

Now the problem: I put it back together and found it had no volume, well it has SOME, but only w/it cranked to 10, and it was quiet. Also though I could hear the reverb, I heard no tremolo.
I pout the .01 bacj in thinking "let's put it back to where it was when it was working" to no avail.

It sounds like it did the day I handed the rectifier tube to someone to put in and they put it in wrong and broke the key part off. I bought a new recifier tube, and the problem went away. But the rectifier tibe is only 2 months old, so I doubt its that, what do you thunk?
Yes the power/preamp tubes are fine and everything is hooked up.

use a scope insert a signal and walk throught the stages you'll find the issue

I hear you, but I fixed it. Unfortunately; I have about as much luck with scopes as I do with Hot Rods. I went through 2 in 3 months; the first one was old and just dies, the sefond was stolen. Plus it seems latelyall issues with amps have been in the power section. I need to pick up another one if you know anyone selling one. I haven't been able tobuild or fix any pedals with bucket brigade chips; analog delays, chorus, flanges; I have 7 pedals sitting on a bench waiting to be finished. It sucks, but between myy engine seizing, and other bills like the vet for the cat. Plus, due tgo the unseasonable warm winter, there haven't been a lot of guitars that need to be repaired. Last winter, every weekennd id go to the shop & thered be a dozen acoustics that weren't humidified; cracked/split tops, bindings seperating, o got so sick of working on them; now id kill for the work.
