Fender is proud to introduce the all-new members of the popular Super Champ series. The new Super Champ X2, Super Champ X2 Head, and SC112 Enclosure bring exciting, brand new modeling and user-friendly features, providing great tone for blues, rock, country and more.

Made in Ensenada, Mexico, the ultra functional Super Champ X2 combo amplifier combines 15 watts of rich dual-6V6 tube amplification with a Fender Special Design 10” speaker for dynamic combo amp tone. This simple, easy-to-use platform includes two switchable channels and several modern extras, such as a voicing knob for selection of 16 different amp types (Tweed, Blackface, British, Metal and more), 15 effects with level control, dual-channel switching (footswitch optional), tap tempo control for precise delay time or modulation speed adjustment, ¼” line output and USB output for speaker-emulated digital recording. For extra versatility, players can add-on the Fender FUSE™ software (available as a free download), for customization of amp voicing and effects defaults, effects parameters deep editing, and online access to free Fender community content.

The Super Champ X2 Head offers great, low-power tube sound in compact design that presents the same great features as its 15-watt, dual-channel combo sibling. It’s designed for use with the new SC112 Enclosure, or other 8-ohm speaker enclosure.

The new SC112 Enclosure mates perfectly with the Super Champ X2 Head or other quality amplifiers. Also made in Ensenada, Mexico, it is compact and rugged, rated at 80 watts RMS (at 8 ohms), and features a single 12” Celestion® G12P-80 speaker for tight, defined tone and a closed-back design for increased bass response.

Nice! I'm definitely going to buy a SCX2 head and cabinet as a backup to my Blues Junior. The only reason I haven't got a SCXD was the 10" speaker. I tried a Mustang II for a while but I really prefer the blackface look and the simplicity of the XD/X2 controls.

I have both an SC and a Mustang III. I love the tone of the SC and it's got a sweet clean channel, but I love the versatility of the Mustang and the preset capability.

I think this new SCX2 is a step in the right direction for an affordable Fender tube amp. It sounds like it now incorporates Fender Fuse. But it would be even better if it had capability for the Mustang two or four button footswitch so you could easily change between presets be it clean, distorted, or w/ effects.

Yep. My Mustang II was certainly versatile, but perhaps too much so for my style. I had a hard time finding a clean sound and lead sound that suited me, so I traded it in for a Frontman 25R (which I like a lot) and a Boss OD-3 Overdrive pedal -- which is my practice setup.

I wanted to love the Mustang II, but it just didn't suit me. I guess I like my amps simple, in combination with a few equally simple pedals. I love my Blues Junior, and I've liked the SCXDs that I've tried, I just wanted it to have a bigger speaker and some more oomph.

So, hopefully Fender will get these amps to the dealers quick.

Does anyone know if I could use the SCXD head with my Mustang cab. From the looks it could only be plugged to one side of the cab. It would be nice to be able to jack a tube amp into this cab one in a while.

Does anyone have any info about a release date? I'm really excited to try one out.

I just checked and it is listed at Guitar Center as "in stock." It's not in any of the stores near me yet, but supposedly they are already shipping it. There are a couple of videos on youtube from a guy who already has one. I am already so convinced that I am going to want the head and cab that I listed some gear on craigslist so that I can afford them.

The fact that you can so so much customizing and deep editing through Fuse on a Tube Powered amp is a HUGE selling point for me. Especially because I already have loved the SuperChamp XD and Mustang. It's the best of both of those worlds in so many ways.

I'd love to have a Fender employee answer:

On the demos of this amp that were posted from NAMM, the Fender folks said that this Amp uses the Mustang Amp software. The big question that I have about that is:

Will I be able to use any of the amps that the Mustang III models on the SuperChamp X2? On the XD, I didn't have the Super Sonic or the 65 Deluxe Reverb. Can I put these on the X2?

Thanks

pulled the trigger today and ordered the scx2 at my local guitar center.

i have never bought an amp without playing thru it first, but it sounds so good thru the demos that i just couldn't wait. as a bonus i got 15% off thru their weekend sale/trade event. got rid of a pedal i haven't used in years, and got the amp for around 250.

i'll give a review when i get it. should be about a week 8)

I was going to buy another super champ as a spare untill i heard there was a new one coming out....I got the super champ xd..about 2 yrs ago..AMAZING!!! my favorite of all amps...
I only have one request from Fender...PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE !!!!..make a 40 watt combo version and keep it in the Hot Rod Deluxe price range($650). You could take the Deluxe Vm add the modeling and call it "Super Deluxe XD"...I'd buy it in a heartbeat.... 8)
