Tonight when playing through my one week old Super Champ XD on Voice 7 I noticed a very annoying clicking noise. It had nothing to do with my pick technique, cable, or guitar as I swapped out or adjusted the variables to see what could cause the click. THe click is not a musical sound of any sort, but very distracting and certainly something not caused by any factor other than the amp itself.

As if I need another headache today this has to come along when I'm just trying decompress.

So, has anyone run into this? I know someone on the Fenderforum site that is reporting the same issue.

:x

Were you wearing a watch or cell phone? That preset has lots of gain and compression, which would pickup more stray noises if they were in range.

If you can't solve it, seek help from a service center.

thanks for the reply.

i wasn't wearing a watch or had my cellphone nearby. i have been having static issues lately. Do you think that could result in the clicking sound?

Static is another possibility.

Galvanic Skin Response = staticky sounds created between your fingers & the pickguard when you are strumming. Some people are particularly susceptible to it. Sounds like science fiction, but it's not; I've seen it happen. Some folks rub their guitars with fabric softener dryer sheets to help get rid of it.

Anyway, any kind of noise source will become louder through the amp when you dial up a sound with a bunch of gain and compression.

Obviously, Iit's hard for this to be diagnosed over this forum...good luck and enjoy your amp!
