Hi there!

When I first started to play guitar, I got a Squire Strat standard.
It came with the amp mentioned. For many years it worked fine, but a couple of years ago, it began to make the occasional pop sound. It sounds like noise (like tv static) and builds in volume over about one second and then suddenly pops. It is a real shame because I love playing on it and I have a great set of effects which is going to waste on my bass amp.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

May be have a look inside, on the PCB first to check the solder joints and secondly to check if a chemical capacitor is dying.

To tell the truth, a Frontman 15G is a throw away amp not worth fixing. I would dump it and buy something new. If you are looking for an inexpensive solid state amp with built in effects, take a look at the new Mustang amps. Not my taste, but it may work just fine for you.

+1 Usually Fender just replaces amps like these if they're under warranty. They did that with my original GDec. If it's not under warranty, I'd just pitch it. IMO that amp did you a solid. 8) There's a lot better little solid state amps for little money. As Bill said, the Mustang may work for you. A Vibro Champ XD may be sweet for you too.

I'd certainly have a look inside. Look for bad solder joints and, these tend to break the PC board at the input jack. Look and see if there is a crack at one, or more, of the legs from the input jack. If so you will need to bridge them and resolder. I use a small piece of wire or paperclip and solder it to bypass the broken joint. A few years back I came into over 30 warranty return amps and almost all of the G15 and R15 amps had this problem. A quick solder and away they went. Look there before discarding the amp.
