When I purchased my Champ 600 I also got a 4x12 cabinet that's rated for 8 ohms.

The champ has a "min" 4 ohm impedence. By using the 8 ohms cabinet, what am I doing. I understand the reverse is a fire hazard.

1) Damaging either the cab or the Champ. (I don't think so, but to be sure I'll ask)

2) Underpowering the cabinet and suffering on tone and or quality. (It's pretty loud with a distortion pedal)

3) I'm okay with my setup.

YOu should be fine driving a 4x12 with a 600. I used to push a Marshall 4x12 with a small Vox amp and was told to "turn it down!" by other musician's in the band. Used to crack me up a 5 watt amp none the less. Just make sure you keep ohm loads compatible between amp and speaker(s) and you should be fine.

Thanks for the repsonse, but I returned the Champ 600 becuase the ohms did not match the cabinet. I ordered a LittleGiant BlackHeart 5w head(sorry I know this is a Fender site) Hey I still got a GDEC and a 08 Strat.
