I have this 94 blues deluxe amp sitting in the corner of the room. I want to start using it again.
1. Tubes. Want to change them out. Type.
2. Speaker. Change or not. Original stock speaker.
3. Settings to use with a Les Paul
4. Settings to use with Fender Stratocaster.

Want to get a decent sound from this amp. Want to give my Bassman LTD a break.

My setup
V1: NOS Jan Phillips 5751
V2/V2: Tung-Sol 12AX7 (new production)
V4/V5 SED (Winged C) 6L6GC
Speaker: Eminence Cannabis Rex

Everyone has their own opinion on tubes and speakers so there really is no rule. If you want inexpensive but reliable and decent sounding tubes the JJ's are probably the way to go. You can use them as a base line and experiment with different types in each slot from there. For v1 thru v3 I'd stick with 12AX7, 5751, or 12ay7. Possibly a 12at7 in v3. And stick with the 6l6's for v4 and v5.

For speakers, I'd ask yourself what you like and don't like about your current one and then read online reviews/literature about different speakers to find one that will move you in the direction you want.

It's an expensive but fun trial and error process.

As far as settings go, just twist the knobs until you hear what you like!!! :)

A 12AT7 in V3 with a 5751 in V1 (12AX7 in V2) sounds really nice also.
