I have a Fender Twin 100w, and having a problem getting the foot switch to work correctly. I have tried a mono and stereo cables but neither works right they both light some of the switches but it just doesn't work.
My main question is there a special fender made cable for this FS or what type does it take?
Thanks :?: Bill

Hi Space_Elation,

4 button? Are you sure the foot switch goes with the amp? What is the part number of the foot switch?

Hi shimmilou
This is a Fender Twin Amp 100W RMS with a toggle switch to change the output to 25W RMS it's all tube, and has a 4 button foot switch. (Channel, Effects loop, Reverb, Tremolo) the part # 057025
Thanks

I recently had this similar problem with my 4 button switch for my Twin. Try using a speaker cable instead of an instrument cable. I found in the manual that it recommends a speaker cable over a instrument cable for the footswitch. A tech told me that this may be due to the large range of signals (voltages?) required for the 4 buttons getting lost in the shielding and/or length of an instrument cable. So far it is working for me.

mfurtaw, I hope your right! I go to rehearsal Tuesday and will definitely check out your fix when I get there. It really sounds so right (Speaker Cable). I also have a Stage 1600 it's a 160W 2-12in speakers with a 4 button foot switch also. I was having the same issue with the Stage 1600. I would try mono guitar cables and I would get weird results plugging them in. I finally found a mono cable with Fender logo stamped on the plug ends. It was a thin cable with a straight end and a right angle plug on the other. It worked!! It looks the same as other mono guitar cables but there's got to be something different. I tried that same cable on the Twin Amp Foot Switch but had no luck. I'm looking forward to trying your speaker cable fix and will post the results.
Thanks again.
