Hey guys,
I'm completely new to the guitar world, started playing about 9 months ago. I've gotten pretty good for the time I've been playing and have some gigs scheduled next year. I just recently purchased the Super Champ XD for home practice use, but for the venues I'll be playing at next year I would love to run the lineout to my old SS Princeton 112 plus. Being a total noob at this stuff I dont know if it will work? Will the tubes from the XD run the sound through the 112's speaker? I wanted to use it sortof like a cab but I wasn't sure if I could. Also whats the deal with the XD is it tube or not? Like is channel 1 all tube and 2 modeling? Thanks.

The SCXD is a solid state modeling amp with a tube output stage:

The Princeton 112 Plus is an all solid state amp:

You could run the Line Out from the SCXD to the Effects Loop Return on the Princeton. Not sure it really buys you anything. No, the tube output would not go through the Princeton. You would have to disconnect the speaker from the Princeton and run a cable from it over to the SCXD speaker jack and unplug the SCXD speaker. Again, not sure what it really buys you.

I think your best solution is to run a 12" extension cabinet with the SCXD. I sometimes do this and use a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 112 cabinet which really improves the sound and presence of the SCXD. Just run the line from the extension cabinet to the speaker jack on the amp. It sounds great.
