I know that my twin of that era came with a 2 button switch (channel select and reverb)
The Dual Showman did not have reverb and I believe that one came with the single channel select switch that looks like this one.Image

Any chance you could repost that pic? I can't see it on my end. Thanks.

Not sure what happened but here it is and the two button that came with reverb....ImageImage

Yes, it's "The Twin", otherwise known as the "Evil Twin" due to the 2nd high gain channel. And I've also read that this was one of the products that Rivera designed. Maybe someday it will be a collector's item and sell for a lot of money, ha! And yes, it's very LOUD. I was going to include a photo but can't figure out how to do it on this forum. I clicked "Img" but it just puts the html tags, doesn't ask for a file upload.

Here is a pic of mine...and yes they are HEAVY and LOUD.
I believe as windwalker said the "Evil" referred the the extra gain stage and wattage. It is very heavy and has a dedicated spot in my music room and it basically never moves from said spot. It's a backbreaker man and it is way too loud for bedroom use. This thing could be used in an arena setting or any venue for that matter.

I am considering a Red Knob Power Chorus on Craigslist... listed as immaculate condition and still has its dust cover and 4 button footswitch. I know it is a solid state 212 twin amp and not the "Twin/Evil Twin" discussed in this thread; but I would appreciate any comments yay or nay.

If I get it I will be using it for the cleans/choruses and not so much the overdrive channels. I would be using a Mustang Floor with it for any dirty/distortion sounds. Any info on how well the Power Chorus plays in the sandbox with effects units like the Mustang Floor would also be greatly appreciated!

Finally, I am just assuming the Red Knob made in USA Power Chorus might be a better choice than its progenitor: the Ultimate Chorus which I think is Chinese made; but thoughts on that would be appreciated as well!

I found a Matching 16 ohm Celestion loaded Fender Tone Master 4 12 bottom cabinet to go with my Red Knob. The Twin of which I also added tiltback legs. I still love this amp. I've recently bought a Laney vc50 2-12 to go with my matching Laney 4-12 botton cab. Totally Sonic. Gobs of tone.
The fender The Twin foot switch has a Channel select and a reverb button.Image

I have a 89 with black knobs, if you use a volume pedal in the effects loop you can crank the pre amp of the overdrive section and the adjust the output with the pedal. I actually made a little box that sits on my amp with a 1meg pot that plugs into the loop. I can get all that distortion and sustain and still keep the volume down. Rock on!
