I like Tremolo, but there's plenty of pedals that work well. For as much as I would use it, I'll just build one myself. I really like Clapton too always have, but I doubt he did any of the design work. He just let Fender use his name to make some big bucks.

I like oddball stuff, not signature or reissue stuff. That's why I still use a heavyass fiberglass 63 Supro Martinique and a beat up 57 Dano U1. Putting some performers name on something doesn't automatically make it great. The only persons name I have on a guitar is Les Paul. He helped design the thing so I guess I'll give it a pass.

You know, I have "Fender" on most of my amps and a couple of guitars. Think his full name was Freddy Fender, or something like that.

Funny, how you Google "Fender" and get a bunch of car parts.

I'm kinda the opposite of some folks here; I don't like Eric Clapton's music but I bought the Eric Clapton Strat because 1) it had the most comfortable neck of any guitar I had played, and no other Fender guitars had that "V" neck; and 2) the active electronics with the mid-boost is a way to get humbucker tones out of the single-coil pickup when you crank the amp.

Getting back to the EC Champ, it appears Fender discontinued the '59 Champ Reissue in favor of the EC Champ. I don't see it on their site anymore. Can somebody confirm?

Yes, all three reissues have been discontinued in favor of the EC versions. A real shame. :(
