I was hoping for some recommendations of 1x12 or 2x10 tube combos to take on the road. Right now I use a 70's super reverb (4x10). It sounds amazing, but it's just too big and too valuable to be practical for touring. I'd like something that sells used for around 500-600 that's basically a workhorse and won't let me down. I mostly play a 74' tele. Any suggestions?

Without qualification, equivocation, or ambiguity......

The '65 Deluxe Reverb re-issue, hands down!

Seconded.

Another choice if you can do with one channel and a 10" speaker is the Princeton Reverb re-issue. I like it because it's lighter and cheaper and still sounds awesome (subjective opinion of course).

Third it!! The Princeton's good if the stage volume is under control 15 watts is kind if iffy. You will get more headroom from the DRRI any way you look at it.

I don't own a DRRI,but have three DR's and would play anywhere with them, for more volume than it can cover, mic it. :D
