Are the 57 Twin, Deluxe and Champs now discontinued? - not showing in model lineup no more, just the EC's...??

It appears that those "standard" Custom Amp Shop tweed re-issues have now bit the dust. I know that up until about a month ago all three were still listed on the product website page as "available".

Too bad. I'm not really a fan of tremolo and really have no use for it. I always wanted a 57 Twin and considered building one (settled on building a 59 Bassman clone instead). Maybe next time. 8)

I saw that coming. IMO those amps were way overpriced for what they were. I can see the Clapton series going that way too. The average player really doesn't have that kind of coin to blow on an amp that's a bit underpowered to gig with. It's not like they needed to do any R&D on them. It's a shame they didn't make them PCB reissues at a reasonable price. I'd bet they sell the snot out of them.

The 59 LTD Bassman seems to have a pretty good following. Although still a bit pricey, its half what the 57 Twin sells for. What bothers me most is at least the 57 Twin, Deluxe, and Champ were reasonably accurate reissues of amps that Fender actually built "back in the day". The new ones are what? They are not reissues. Did Clapton really feel that these amps needed to be "improved" with the addition of tremolo or was it Fender's idea and they just enlisted EC to give them some legitimacy?

All this makes me even more anxious to get my Weber 5F6A kit and start building. :D

The same to be said for the '64 Vibroverb re-issue.

:(

All I have to say is I'm glad Victoria amps are still around, just is case I feel like getting back into Fender amps. Victoria is the real deal in Fender reissues as far as I'm concerned. Lifetime warranty too. I won't own a current production Fender unless they get act together in their QC department.

I'm not too surprised, at least in the case of the Champ. At $1000 street price it is just too much money for too little amp. The store near me has had one sitting there for about 6 months. I was intrigued by this amp so I built my own clone of it for about $400. Still too much. It's a fun little amp but not worth that kind of money, IMO.
