Turn down the guitar volume and you can make out what they are saying.

Crazy but true, anyone else had this issue ? the amp is in the same spot in my studio every other DRRI and TRRI has been, none of them turned into FM receivers ???

It does seem as if we had another fella on this forum that had a similar problem.

The amp needs shielded is all. Copper tape or copper screening should do the trick if the other amps aren't picking up the RF.

Strangely enough it was the 20 ft cable ( a well made brand) that went from guitar to my wah.
Same setup I used with every other amp in that spot in the studio.
(Studio being used to describe an attached two car garage converted in to a family room / jam place).
I started replacing cables one at a time till I got to that one and the radio station went away as soon as I got rid of it, less overall hum too.

The DRRI is now whisper quiet.

I'd never heard of this phenomenon before but I'm reading a Jimi Hendrix biography and there is an account of one of his final concerts where he struggles to be heard over the local security staff broadcasts! It may have been at Isle of Wight.

RF interference is a relatively common phenomenon when a wah pedal is wired into a signal chain -- the variable inductor it contains is the usual culprit. It's possible that your particular instrument cable exacerbated the situation, though not by deliberate design. It may work perfectly fine elsewhere within your set-up, give it a try.

Hey Arjay !
Glad to hear from you, its been a while since I was able to hang out here.
I seldom use the wah, Thinking its just another possible problem waiting to happen in my signal chain.

I'm back in Bail Bonds business after trying my hand at being a territory Sales Manager for a large Auto Parts chain for about a year, it left me with no time to have any fun and so..... here I am back hanging out in jails, I must admit I really missed it !
Now I've got time to play guitar and chat.

Hang in there, BB.

As we all know, the criminal-justice business is a growth industry these days.

You'll never want for lack of work.

Its not a lack of criminal activity, its Judges accepting cash bonds to pay the attorney.

They (the attorney) cry to the judges that if the client pays a bondsman they can't afford to pay them.

Funny the attorny is never responsible to retrieve them when they skip court, but I am !!!!

More government intervention, Lord knows they do my job better than I can LOL !!!!

I had a Mesa/Boogie that played the local rap station every time we played a particular bar. It didn't matter which outlet I was plugged into or where I located the amp on the stage. It used to drive me absolutely crazy! To this day I don't have a clue as to why it did it. I didn't have that problem anywhere else we played except this one bar.

Back in about 1999 or 2000 or so I had an early 90's Blues Deville 212 that would pick up a local AM talk station but only when it was placed against a certain wall in my house. Damndest thing. Move it 2 feet from where I wanted it to sit and it would stop talking. Thank Gawd! it never did that on stage.... can you imagine? The prospect is horrifying.
