Twenty years ago this week my '65 Twin Reverb re-issue passed its final-assembly inspection and was crated then shipped from Corona to a dealer in Phoenix. I have no clue as to the character of service it rendered to its previous owner (owners?) but it was a virtual "cream puff" when I bought it as used in January of 2001. Though it sounded great in the store, for reliability's sake it was immediately re-tubed with all NOS glass (RCA blackplates in the output stage -- Amperex, Mullard, and Westinghouse for the pre-amp), the idle bias was optimized at 35.5 mA, and the filter caps were supplanted by Sprague Atoms. The OEM Eminence speakers were replaced with JBL K120's. It's been in my possession for over a decade now and during that time has logged some four hundred trouble-free gigs and thousands of hours of rehearsal and jam time. Not a "burp", a "hiccup", or a "cough" to report thus far. I'd call that a pretty enviable track record, comparable even to the legendary-and-original blackfaces of the '60s.

Hand salute to the FMIC staff who built this amp!

8) 8) 8)

Congrats, fine amp there. Hope to hear from you in 2021 for your 20th ann report (and the amp's 30th). :)

If I could have the same for my car it will be great because it is much more expensive than an amp.
Seriously, that's a great amp very reliable. What's about filtering caps ?
